People often ask this question and while folks have heard of the term sarsaparilla, not everyone is aware that sarsaparilla was originally made from the sarsaparilla vine and root beer from the roots of the sassafras tree. Today we consider sarsaparilla as a root beer. Most root beers however are extremely sweet but Earp’s is not. And, just like the original sarsaparilla, you might note a very slight smokey taste.
